Consumer Reviews

I'm going to have to disagree with the initial overview. There is fairly a bit of reverb on the recording, but it does not sound like it was recorded in a high school gymnasium. I believe the sound is warm, wealthy, nicely-balanced and fairly suitable, but apparently it is a matter of taste. There is a fantastic deal of direct sound atop the ambience, and these compositions/arrangements sound rather good in the chosen atmosphere. I'm not sure a a lot drier space would have been fairly complimentary to these pieces, specially thinking about the specifics of their technical challenges and the way various components are voiced.
As for Halasz's playing, it's brilliant. Occasionally I think I could stand for him to take a small a lot more time with some of the phrases and points but definitely, so considerably of timing and phrasing and shaping, in Takemitsu's music, is meant to be left entirely up to the performer, and I think Halasz has completed a mighty fine job with interpretations (I especially like the Folios at the tempo he's selected) This is an album of excellent compositions/arrangements played technically and musically superior than I've ever heard them. I highly, extremely reccommend it. Give it a listen on iTunes or one thing ahead of you decide to purchase it and see what you feel of the sound. I've never ever written such an album overview prior to, but I felt strongly sufficient about this recording to do so. I hope you will give it a chance.

I was excited to have a full solo guitar recording of Takemitsu,s perform. The recording top quality of this function , then again is pretty painful to listen to.
Drenched in ambient reverb from the church in Sweden and one track from a concert hall in Germany, one has to dig by way of a virtual wall of sonic sludge to hear Takemitsu,s brilliant arrangements/compositions.
This is a real as shame as the guitarist , Franz Halasz has a masterful command of his instrument and the material at hand. Hopefully someone will record this body of function so we can delight in listening and not really feel like the overall performance took location at a high school gymnasium.
